In 2012, he founded the comics magazine Caves focusing on illustrations and drawings with the aim to draw attention to the quality of Czech and European authors. Recently, the focus of his interest has been the large-scale charcoal drawing, focusing on different landscapes.
In this work, Pavel Trnka depicted the crumbling construction of industrial architecture. The topic of destruction plays a significant role in Trnka’s recent drawings. To achieve greater effect, Pavel Trnka uses washed rust that evokes progressive destruction or conversion of material. This unique approach to the drawing enables Pavel to express the transformation of material within time.
